Founded in 2025, the TCIDA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting education and expanding artistic opportunities for the Irish dancers of Mactír Academy of Irish Dance. TCIDA supports the growth and development of the dancers by fostering a deeper understanding of Irish Dance and culture through educational initiatives, community engagement, and performance.
Our vision is to promote Irish Dance and culture to empower Irish dancers of all ages and backgrounds by cultivating lifelong skills such as discipline, confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Through inclusive support and advocacy, TCIDA aims to enrich the Irish Dance community across the Twin Cities and beyond.
Our goals include organizing and funding social and educational activities that promote the art and appreciation of Irish Dance for Irish dancers and the broader community; providing scholarships to support access to dance lessons, costumes, and competition opportunities; coordinating performances and cultural events throughout the community; hosting local Irish Dance competitions in partnership with Mactír Academy of Irish Dance; and offering logistical support including transportation, meals, and other essentials for Irish dancers participating in community performances that promote Irish Dance.
The TCIDA is governed by an elected Board of Directors including four officers and a permanent position for the Artistic Director of Mactír Academy of Irish Dance, Emily Wolff. Membership is open to all parents of dancers and current adult dancers at Mactír.
